1983 World Cup Champions - We Deserved It!!!

If I have to go by what my father told me of the celebrations, this was probably the biggest celebration the country had seen post Independence. We were not even considered a team who could have won & Kapil's team made it to the top.

Here we list down the 7 Reasons why we think India deserved to be world champions.

1. They played fearless cricket & did not worry about the bowling & batting that West Indies had at that time.

2. They all had DREAMS which were cultivated in a small towns

3. They were modest in their approach & took one step at a time.

4. They believed in their abilities more & did not discount themselves in comparison to the opposition.

5. This was needed to make a country a Cricket Crazy that it is today.

6. Each member of that team was passionate about the game of cricket above everything else.

7. They were lead by an inspiring captain like Kapil Dev.

Debates will go on & the game of cricket will live forever but this achievement by Kapil's Devil will always be the reason for what the game is today. Period!

Whistle Podu or Duniya Hila Denge Hum - 2015 Qualifier 1

There has been a troll doing the rounds that IPL is a stage where all teams compete against each other to try & defeat Chennai Super Kings in the final. Why not to some extend this is true also. Chennai has been one of the most consistent team if all season of IPL. A captain who sets standards so high that each player of his & the opposition team only admires & praises. Mahendra Singh Dhoni is probably one of the biggest reason of IPL being such a big phenomenon since it's inception.
Dhoni's men are no less either. An opening pair of McCullum & Smith can send shivers down anyone's spine, Suresh Raina & Faf speaks volume when he wears the yellow jersey. Bravo, Ashwin, Jadeja are all weapons that Dhoni uses it smartly, Ashish Nehra has been the biggest turn around for them. It certainly is not easy to defeat them & it certainly won't for the Bollywood Boys today.

On the other hand Mumbai Indians have had roller coaster ride, in this case the roller has been moving only towards the sky. Mumbai Indians is more about their management leading the game than the captain himself. World Champion Ricky Ponting sure knows the trick how to get this one through & seal a place in the final. His experience is going to count here. Rohit Sharma needs to step up & score a big one tonight if he wants his team to step up. Parthiv Patel & Simmons have been batting well but Chennai on a big day would be tough to attack. Pollard, Ambati Raydu & Pandya all need to extract something out of the ordinary tonight. Malinga, Mclaghen & Bhajji need to get all their experience count today. Mumbai Indians def need to take advantage of the home crowd support as Mumbaikars cheers aloud as no one does, after all soul of Sachin lies in each one of them.

Whatever said & done, tonight's match is going to be a tough one with Chennai having an upper hand.

Whistle Podu or Duniya Hila Denge Hum, what are you going to cheer for?

5 West Indies players that rule the IPL

5 - Dwayne Smith - Opening the batting for Chennai, this man is a threat not only to fielders but also to spectators around. Each IPL he has left a mark with his outstanding innings & has been the key to Chennai's dominance.

4 - Keiron Pollard - His prescence on the field not only gets the crowd going but even the oppositions get careful. A Mumbai Indian since he has enteted IPL he is a bigger HIT in the Indian then when he plays for his own country. His on field antics is of a different level all together.

3 - Dwayne Bravo - How fortunes changes is what Bravo depicts every time he has a bat ball or he is fielding. Spectacular catches, brilliant bowling at death & some great finishes with bat, makes him a dangerous player. No wonder Dhoni relies heavily on him.

2 - Sunil Naraine - His mystery is yet to be solved. Every team analyses him & strategies to play him in a manner, yet he comes out on top. KKR's success run has been largely because of the spin web this West Indian rolls around the opposition. How the hell does he bowl that carrom ball.

1 - Chris Gayle - More said about him is less for him. How a man can change the way a team is looked upon speaks volumes. He is a monster & a bowler's nightmare. Crowds come on ground in hope of a Gaylestorm and he does deliver more often than not.

Happy Birthday Sachin

Dear Sachin,
These days every time a Kohli or a Sharma walks to bat on the field we deep within try to see a glimpse of you in them. It's been a while since you have retired still we are yet to decide who should we chant for with the same passion as we did for you. The way you adjusted your stance, that little face of yours behind the helmet & the way you raised your bat every time on a milestone is so missed on television sets. You have left us with an emptiness & you have left us confused. Today many of us support the Mumbai Indians since you are some how associated with them but we know how the team has been performing. As I write this I realise I have grown up with you & I have grown up wanting to be you. Sachin you were a dream for us, you were a reason for us to celebrate, you were our passion & you will forever remain our pride. However you have made us handicapped, in a nation where we are short of inspiration in our regular daily life, you were our hope, you were something we all wanted to be. With you leaving the game we Indians are confused if we should celebrate the game or laugh at the fun this T20 provides. To see a straight drive is rare, too see that flick of the legs is rare. Big shots & short boundaries is what this game has ended into. Oh Sachin even those TV advertisements were beautiful with you. I so wanted that MRF bat all my life & I so kept drinking that pepsi since you endorsed it. It's just difficult to connect with the newer breed of cricketers. Debates will go on till this game lives but for me you will always be the man who taught me what pride is, what the actual meaning of passion is & what it is to see a dream & fulfil it. Happy Birthday Tendlyaaa... One more time & adding to the countless times I have roared... SACHINNNNN... SACHINNNNN

Love,
Just another fan of yours.

Dhoni's Complete Family

Dhoni the captain of India was away from his new born baby for almost 4 months while he was on national duty. When he returned to India after the World Cup, the kind of joy that would have been on his face seeing the new born is what only he would have understood.

Being criticised by media, hectic tours & meeting the expectations of billions of Indians is no joke & then to come back to see this, is sheer JOY.

Dhoni we wish you & your family a super & blessed life ahead.

10 Foreign Batsmen to Watch Out For - IPL 8

Foreign players, they are much talked about & few of them are also the captains of some of the teams of INDIAN Premier League.

Here are the 10 players to watch out for this IPL 8

10 JP Duminy - He may not be in the same category as some of the biggest foreign players might be but do not underestimate this South African who is now also the captain of his team Delhi Daredevils.

9 Corey Anderson - He is huge & holds the capacity to throw any ball out of the park on a given day. Would not be surprised if you see his name on the top scorers list.

8 Shane Watson - He may not be in the limelight when it comes to batting but if he gets into his groove it would be difficult to stop him. Captain ship might make things good for him & may look at setting an example for his team while leading the batting.

7 David Warner - Known for his aggressive brand of cricket, watch out for this new captain of SRH in the coming matches.

6 David Miller - For some reason the gut says this man is going to rewrite some records in the coming time. With Maxwell this guy is going to rock the IPL seen.

5 Steve Smith - His looks might deceive you at what he is capable of. His form may well decide the future of the Rajasthan team The plan would be to rotate the batting around him. Other teams need to get him out as early as possible.

4 Glenn Maxwell - Maximum that's what he like to do with every ball thrown at him. A splendid world cup & a brilliant IPL history expect him to up his performance this year too.

3 Brendon McCullum - He is getting famous with the title baaz. Well he can only be described in one word BRILLIANT. Sure performer & charmer of IPL.

2 AB De Villiers - AB De Villiers - We Indians just love this name & not because he plays great cricket but also for the gentleman he is. So well reminds us of our very own Rahul Dravid . ABD you better not disappoint us this IPL

1 Chris Gayle - Ruthless, Heartless & Fearless, these three words describe the man Chris Gayle. He is what every bowler does not want to see & every fielder does not want to come in between of. A bowler's nightmare, expect this RCBian to achieve new heights which you & me might not even be able to think.

IPL Top Run Scorers Key Indian Players At IPL 8 IPL 8 Teams

Gaylestorm

Our coaching manuals do not teach us your kind of batting. Our culture also does not teach us the kind of celebrations you often exhibit on ground but we still love your charisma on the ground. When we sit in front of our television sets we want you to hit those big sixes, we want you to tear apart the opposition's bowling & we want to see your celebrations.

Chris Gayle you are one of it's kind on planet earth. Ruthless, Heartless & Fearless, your are simply brilliant to watch. Every time your play there is one question that keeps coming to my mind, how are you different when you play for IPL?

Is it the music, the atmosphere, the team or simply the love for Indian audiences that drives you to do what you every year do at the IPL.

You have already displayed a promo of what you can do during the first match against KKR, however we expect much more since within we know even you are a Bollywood fan. Picture Abhi Baki Hai Mere Dost!!!

Key Indian Players in this IPL

Suresh Raina - Tried tested & successful. If not best, he is one of the best when it comes to IPL. With the highest run scorer tag & a newly wedded life, this man is expected to create some fireworks with his bat. Watch out for him.

Robin Utthapa - Not many will consider him the player to look out for but he def is. With some exciting history with KKR & a chance to be back in the Indian team, keep your eyes on thia man. He will surprise you all.

Irfan Pathan - Once considered the next Kapil Dev of India this man blurred out of the Indian cricket scene. With a fresh team & captain like Dhoni to guide him well, Irfan is sure to come back & come back strong with bat & ball. Even India wants him to do well.

Virat Kohli/Rohit Sharma - The duo may be leading two different teams but are expected to run parallel in terms of performance. Remember besides the IPL trophy they have a future India captain ship which these players might have an eye on.

Ajinkya Rahane - Look at him & you will be deceived by what this guy can do. With a mentor like Dravid expected the unexpected from him. He is going to be the key in this year's IPL. Besides that he would also look at establishing himself in the India T20 team with a strong performance.

5 Foreign Players to Watch Out For...

AB De Villiers - He is one of the most loved players today in the cricket world. He is truly a gentleman in this beautiful game. With a semi final exit during the world cup & playing with a captain whose team is yet to win an IPL, AB De Villiers is sure going to be one of the key players to watch out for.

Steve Smith - He may not look a fire power but the world would count him as one of the greatest in near future. His silk smooth batting & street smart cricketing brain is sure going to make him a player to watch out for. Remember he plays for Rajasthan Royals under the guidance of Rahul Dravid.

Lasith Malinga - He has been literally the poster boy of the Mumbai Indians team. With chants of Malingaaa Malingaaa in the backdrop this man is expected to send shivers around the batsman. He may not come in the limelight but this IPL he is going to be the silent killer.

Glen Maxwell - IPL 7 was more of his then of Kings XI Punjab. He invents, he executes and he dictates. This IPL is going to witness a new show of this man. With the WORLD CUP victory under his belt the confidence is only going to boost up.

Brendon McCullum - A brilliant world cup, an agressive captain & an outstanding leader makes this man called Brendon McCullum. He may not come in the limelight before the actual action begins but beware he is here to rule. He has that power & the will in him. Def a player to look out for this IPL.
